here is a rough outline of what i had come up with for the final draft card project.


Final Project

Sigmund Brouwer is looking for a new character for his latest book and he needs your help. Each member of this team (class) will create a trading card for their favorite player or a player that you believe that Sigmund would be interested in.He will re viweing these cards in order to pick the character for his next book.

Sigmund Brouwer is a well known author so your cards must be well made and impressive to look at. Sigmund Brouwer will be visiting our class at the end of the month ( or whatever you want to say) to view our cards. We will have class time and homework time that will be used to between now and then to complete this assignment. Good luck on your cards. I can’t wait to see what amazing projects you will create.


Thats all i really came up with. obviously it needs to be changed and written up a bit better but thats the main idea of it.

I Have booked room 2401 from 11:30-1pm for us to work in on Friday March 18th. Room CS 2182C/D has been booked on the same day from 1:00pm-4pm.

March 21st CS 2182C/D is booked from 12pm-4pm

March 28th CS 2182c/d is booked from 8am-9am

Hey Guys,

I think either grade 5 or grade 7 has plenty of outcomes which will be enhanced with our Thematic Unit of Hockey. I've created a new page and posted them.

Theme for Lesson

I like the idea. True that is very gender sided, would females feel uncomfortable even if we picked something like basketball?

Ooo Cache just gave me a theme as I was typing this! what about a Fair. The bulliten could be a fairis Wheel. We could have cotton candy. Candy apples, Dress like carnies and clowns. Lights, and flags. hotdogs. the SMARTboard ballon popping game for a teddy. Park and Ride passes. Sorry I might have just got to exciedted about this. TJ's idea is good too. lol

Theme for Lesson
I came up with one idea, if you guys don't like it, just say so, you won't hurt my feelings I promise.

We could have basketball, hockey, football or really any sport theme (yes this sounds typical from a guy, but here me out).

We could relate it to the math curriculum through a statistics unit. Maybe the students have to follow a certain team or player throughout the unit and track their stats and answer problems that relate to the statistics.

Social studies could be geography. Players or teams from around the world, where those places are, etc.

Plus we could add a bonus phys ed aspect to it, where they get to play some games.

Not sure which grade specifically, but just thought I would throw it out there.

Honestly, I've been trying to think of ideas but I have so much due by the end of the month, I have been putting this project off. Sorry.

Fairy Tale theme has potential, however I wonder if it might be more suited for a younger crowd? Elementary-ish?

I know I haven't supplied anything better though. I'll keep thinking.
